odd annoying vibration at 30-40 in only 2H
I've done a lot of searching and so far haven't fount an answer to this but when i have the 1356 in 2H it vibrates like crazy but it goes away when put into 4H. this didn't start till i first tried to put it into 4H a couple of months ago. I've only had it since sept/oct and don't know much about the history other than the previous owner didn't know how to properly maintain things. i just replaced the transfer case motor and shocks all around and the vibration went from 35-45 down to 30-40 and then constant around 60 on up but only while in 2H. if there is a thread i missed some where that explains it please let me know as this is driving me nuts for the past 2 months and i hate driving it in 4H full time.:cry:banghead
2002 Double Cardan Joint Trouble in Fort Worth
I thought I had researched the replacement of my u joints to death. Little did I know of a key word "Double Cardan".
So I have my drive shaft scattered on the floor and now I find out that the DC is a nightmare that I shouldn't have tackled, but the squeaking is coming from somewhere and I might as well replace it all with 240k on it.
1. Is there any DIY resolve to this?
2. Does this have to be purchased from the dealer?
3. Are there any drive shaft shops in Fort Wort or Dallas that can repair this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Best for Last?
Petroglyph site three is about five minutes up Fish Slough road after you leave site two. Like the others, it's got a fenced-in parking area.
This one is a little further removed from the road compared to the first two,...

Looking for quality head 4M4O
Greetings,
I am looking for a complete cylinder head for a 4M40,pref AMC or any other reputable make in the JHB area.
I have been quoted R3,8k by Components for Africa and R6k by Alert Engine Spares. What worries me is that neither companies can tell me what make it is,even though they offer a 12 month guarantee.Stealers extorting R13k for bare head.
Any assistance will be greatly valued!
Best regards,
TAM

Black Russian Terriers
Hi all,
Does anyone on the forum own or have experience with the Black Russian Terrier breed of dog? The night before last I had an argument/wrestling match with a tsotsi about which side of my bedroom window his arm was allowed. So being threatened to be shot just for a freaking cell phone or even waking up with a black dude looking down on you is not for me, and I the first item on my list is getting new dogs (I very sadly had to “relocate” my previous dogs to my sister, due to them not being compatible with my baby girl – they didn’t grow up with any children so I was very scared of their reactions with and around my child. And I did not want to take a chance. The female dog was the very best I ever owned, she was an American Staffordshire terrier. Absolute perfect combination of watch and guard dog mixed into one. The most alert dog ever, and also fearless in protecting her territory, as well as my wife and I. Also very intimidating, not once in 4 years did she have to use her bite, her bark was enough. Yet all she ever wanted was to sit on my foot whilst braaiing. The most gentle soul when it came to her family. Jeez I miss her. Picture included)
So now my daughter is 19 months and almost ready to own/be around dogs. To be able to respect, love and play the sh#t out of it! First I liked and wanted to get a Wire Haired German Pointer, but if I am onest with myself then I don't think that I have an active enough livestyle for them. And after recent (read fight with burglar) I am thinking along the lines of a mix of a guard dog and one watchdog to be reared to sleep inside. Boerboel is the obvious choice (guarding whilst the wife and kids play outside during the day), but I am weary of small children and boelies (my fear might be ill founded – but it is there and I can’t ignore it). So my F.I.L told me about the Black Russian Terrier breed. From what I’ve read they seem of sound temperament but also protective of those they grow to know as family. So I have included them on my short list.
Hence my question, anyone with experience with these dogs (BRT)? (photo of BRT included)
