Jeep Gladiator/J2000
So on my way to work everyday Ive noticed from the highway a convertable 4x4 in the back of the Foreign Cars Italia lot off Tyvola and always wondered what it was.. So the other day I venture back there and it was a J2000.
Ive never seen one of these before but it was pretty sweet... Reminded me of the Kaiser military trucks. This one looks like it is a forgotten project. The paint was newer, had the hard top and a roll bar. Had all flat mud tires, the interior looked nice with all the dash and a spare/replacement radiator sitting on the seat.
If anyone loves these jeeps I would go talk to someone at that place and see about taking it off their hands. It would be a great project that looks to not need too much work to be roadworthy. I didnt get too good of a look but it looked fairly good with minimal rust that I could see..

Brick Fire Pit
Anyone have and good fire pit designs? I got a bunch of free brick and want to run it along the inside of the firepit with about a 1/2 Ft perimeter and build a small grill to attach to the pit where I can scoop coals into to warm the grill plate.
Whats the best cement to use for this? The fire pit is on a spot on the water that sees gale force winds at times. Will cement be strong enough or do I need to reinforce with rebar or something?

Reliable bulletproof vehicle for sister
So I just got my sisters car back from the shop and $800 later it still drives like a scalded dog. Im trying to find something better for her on gas but that is also dependable and can take a beating... With that said, she is on her 4th Ford Exploder and this one seems like it is going to live up to the name. Shes not good at maintaining vehicles so I think this time around I am going to use that AMS oil since she never gets her oil changed. Shes prefers SUVs so she can drive over stuff - curbs, people, gas pumps - whatever gets in her way (she just needs ground clearance not the 4x4).
Any ideas? I was thinking something along the lines of a Toyota rav4 or some kinda honda 6cyl SUV or maybe even an old beater she can just tear the :poop: out of and then replace it later down the road..
On another note - anyone looking for a well used Exploder 4x4 V8 w/ only 120k miles? :shaking:

Clear Hard Top
So I recalled seeing an aftermarket hard top for wranglers that was all transparent plastic with a dark tint. Do they still make this? Am I making this up cause I cant find it anywhere? :alien:
Charlotte Auto Show 2011
Anyone go to this? I went last night, alot of nice new rides out. The new Jeeps are garbage. I didnt know they downgraded the motor in the wrangler to a 3.6, everything is plastic on em and they just ruined em. There is no rugged feel to them at all and it seems like it would take alot of money replacing everything just to make it off road worthy...
On the other hand, Ford had a Raptor truck there, by far one of my favorites at the show. It had fox dual resevior shocks, 6.2L (11mpg!!) and 35" tires stock. Very solid rig.. Too bad it was a Ford.
Then there are the cars. Ive noticed alot of the newer cars seem very difficult to work on. The engine bays are so crowded and they all have this plastic molding over the motors covering all the parts. My favorite part was the classic car section.
Yall check out it today if ya have a chance, its only 8 bucks!!
