Engine Roars When Hot and A/C

My 04 Wrangler with 4.0 auto has always done this but I wonder why. Only after some hot highway driving with cold a/c blasting do I notice this. When taking off from a stop the engine makes a noticeably louder roaring sound and seems to be working harder to accelerate. My wife even asks, "Why does it sound like that?". The temp is fine but at its highest point after sustained interstate speeds and stop and go St Louis traffic. The roaring eventually goes away and it doesn't always do it but I can't figure out exactly what's making the sound increase. Anybody know why? Any similar experiences? I hope I explained myself well.

4×4 help!

I'm a owner of a 2003 jeep tj sahara.
I want to know if there is something else I need to do other than just flip the 4x4 handle beside the shifter in order to use the 4x4 option on my jeep?

How much could I get!?!?!?!

I have had these Xenon fender flares sitting in my garage for a while and decided to clean them and possibly sale them. How much do yal think I could get out of them. They have a few scratches but haven't really lost their color. Thanks!

Oh and sorry for the picture quality, it's from my cellphone :)

Alignment completely out of wack – everything loose!

I took my 99 TJ offroading today for the first time since I got my lift and new 32"s. I had an alignment done at the shop up the street last week and didn't drive it again until offroading today.

So I am driving down the bumpy unpaved road when I realize my steering wheel is turned to 9'oclock the whole time. We finally get to the highway to head to a different spot so I stop to check what is going on up front. Every nut and bolt on my tie-rod and drag link is loose to the touch. My wheels are obviously not straight.

What the heck happened? Could that have happened just from bouncing around on the road for an hour or did the shop f-up and not tighten things up enough? I have certainly abused this Jeep worse then this in the past and never had an issue.

tire rub

bought a 99 tj with 31x 10.5 on stock rims and they rub on tight turns
I saw on some site that this is the largest tire for a stock tj ??
will new wheels correct this ? are they off set for the bigger tire or do I need spacers and what size? I also saw on a site about adjusting the wheel stops ? But they look like there is'nt much tread left to come out.
Pretty imbarrasing when they rub and people are around.

06 TJ/LJ Unlimited Installed new stereo/ now interior dash lights dont work

Looking for some help.

Tonight I installed a Kenwood CD Player. I bought the mounting kit and the wiring harness and used good connectors on all the wires.

After finishing up the install I decided to take the family up to Sonic to get an ice cream so we could test out the new stereo and speakers.

I fire the Jeep up and turn the lights on and everything works but I have not lights on my gauges. My odometer is there and lit up. I reach to adjust the brightness of the gauges and the odometer gets brighter but still no lights on my tach and spedometer. So I go to the book and figure out which fuse to check. It say #10 is at Red 10A fuse for interior gauge lights. I check it and its fine. Someone told me to check #1 20A parking light fuse. I checked it also and it was fine. My interior dome lights on the speaker bar are working when I open my doors. Everything is working perfectly except the gauge lights. I thought it had to be a fuse but I am striking out there also.

So now I am stuck and would love some advice as to what to check next!

Thanks for taking the time to help me out...you guys and gals rock :punk:

Running 32s with Rubicon springs/shocks on an ’03 Sport

Hey guys, complete newbie here, just bought my new baby, a 2003 Sport. Has 17,000 miles. I asked what the setup on this was before I bought it and the PO said there is NO lift on it, he just installed Rubicon springs and shocks. It is sitting on 32 Muds. The 32s appear to fit OK altho they do bang the lower control arm when turned tightly. I inspected it and cannot find any evidence of any type of body/suspension lift or coil spacers. It was aligned and tracks really straight down the road. Appears to have some type of caster/camber disks installed on the lower arms.

I want to take it out this weekend for some light wheeling, so I guess my question is....is this setup OK with the 32s? I want to make sure I'm not going to tear anything up with those 32s if I take it out wheeling. Is anyone else out there running the "Rubicon/Sport spring/shocks swap"?? Whats the general opinion of this? Thanks in advance, I look forward to being involved in the Wrangler community:thumb:

Duplicolor bed armor

"OEM" Catalytic Converter for 1998 TJ – For Real?

Hoping for a little advice...

I have a 1998 TJ with 4.0L 6-cylinder engine and a bad catalytic converter. The dealer price for an original equipment cat is $982 plus installation, whereas aftermarket cats run around $250.

Unfortunately, I live in California which closely regulates the aftermarket cats and, for some reason or other, the cat makers have California-compliant cats for the 1997 4.0L, but not for the 1998 4.0L. The dealer, however, told me that the part number for the 1997-98 TJs is #5083056AB. I was planning to buy an aftermarket cat for a 1997 and take my chances with smog testing, but then....

Armed with the part number, I found a "Catalytic Converter And Midpipe (Oem) For 97-98 TJ Wrangler With 4.0L Inline Six Cylinder" at Morris 4x4 Center:

Catalytic Converter And Mid Pipe 5083056AB

I am skeptical that this is really an original equipment part (they say it is), but I took a leap of fath and ordered it. Any experience with this part? Cancel it, or see what I get?

won’t go into 4th. (automatic)

I had my transmission flushed yesterday. Now it won't engage 4th or go over 50mph. But 1-3 and overdrive are fine... Anyone know what's possibly going on in there?
