hi guys,

Put a new fuel filer on, filled the filter with diesel.

Carefullly bolted her back in and clamped up the lines.

Loosened the bleed bolt.

Pushed the priming pump on the top down about 300 times.

No fuel at all.

Got a vacuum pump and sucked fuel up through the supply line from the tank and as clear as a bell. Not a speck of dirt. Excellent easy flow.

Put it back together and refilled the filter cartridge.

Pushed the priming pump on the top down about 300 times.

No fuel at all.

Pulled the priming pump out and cleaned the little flap valve and seems to work well. Blew through the little gauze filter abd clean as.
Reassembled and still won't pump.

The pump appears to be faulty.

Any ideas?

Well WD40 won't shift it, so I got this industrial strength lubricant called PX40, through work.

I got underneath and gave the whole thing a damn good spray, got a good covering myself.

Then I went and removed the gear knob for the low range box and gaiter, I got my stanley knife and cut away the sound proofing.

Then I got to the rubber covering, almost like another gaiter round the gear leaver, I took the stanley and cut a hole in that too, finally I could see the mechanism.

So I gave the whole lot a good spray again with the PX40.

It goes into low range and back again with no problems at all, but it will absolutly not lock the diffs.

So my thinking is that I am going to have to cut out a section of the plastic next to the gear lever so I can see the whole thing and perhaps get a tool to it like a spanner or screw driver.

I had some advise last week to hammer it with lubricant then get a jack handle on the gear lever and give it a good tug.

Any other thoughts on how I can get access.

Cheers

John

Ive decided that Im putting a 2" BL on my 06 X and I wanted to get 33's to put on it at the same time. My size right now is 265/70R16 I think. What would the size be if I wanted the 33 and maybe a little wider of a tire? Any recommendations for tires? I like the BFG Rugged Trails but open to any other ideas. Any pics of yours with a BL and 33's?

Thanks for the help!

Today I put on a set of of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. I went up one size to a LT275/70R17.
